Leadership & Governance
Porter Hill Academy of Arts and Sciences is led by educators and professionals who bring experience from education, leadership, technology, student support, and other professional fields. Together, they are responsible for maintaining the academic, operational, and cultural life of the school.
Our leadership structure is designed to keep the academy’s mission, academic expectations, student experience, and day-to-day operations connected across a fully online K–12 environment.
Mrs. Aliyah Porter-Low
Founder & Head of School
Mrs. Aliyah brings experience in curriculum development, teaching, and leading educational teams, together with a multidisciplinary perspective shaped by doctoral work at the intersection of psychology, education, and technology.
At Porter Hill Academy of Arts and Sciences, she provides institutional leadership across academic and operational functions, carries the mission and vision of the academy into schoolwide decision-making, and works to ensure that students, faculty, programs, and systems remain aligned with the school’s goals and values.

Mrs. Kiarra
Principal
Mrs. Kiarra brings a strong commitment to academic excellence and to the transformative power of classical learning. Her work reflects a respect for enduring educational traditions and the role they can play in shaping thoughtful, capable students.
At Porter Hill Academy of Arts and Sciences, she guides the daily academic life of the school, supports faculty, and helps ensure that instruction reflects the academy’s mission and vision. She works to cultivate a school culture that supports intellectual growth, virtue, and wise engagement with the world.

Mr. Glenn
Director of Academics & Enrollment
Mr. Glenn’s career spans educational and community-based settings, including schools, in-home support, and residential treatment facilities, where he has served as a behavioral specialist and coach.
At Porter Hill Academy of Arts and Sciences, his responsibilities include supporting academic coherence, helping faculty carry the school’s mission into practice, and contributing to an enrollment experience that reflects both high expectations and genuine care for students and families.

Mr. Mwalimu Juma
Director of Curriculum & Instruction
Mr. Juma brings professional experience in civil engineering, site inspection, and project oversight, including monitoring highway construction projects to ensure that safety requirements, quality standards, and technical specifications were consistently upheld.
At Porter Hill Academy of Arts and Sciences, he brings a strong commitment to organization, precision, responsibility, and high standards. His work supports an academic environment in which students are expected to think critically, work with purpose, and develop skills that prepare them for future study and professional life.

Mr. Conner
Director of Information Technology
Mr. Conner brings experience in instructional technology, systems administration, and technology integration within education, complemented by self-directed work in software development and systems optimization.
At Porter Hill Academy of Arts and Sciences, he oversees the academy’s technology infrastructure, supports reliable digital operations, and works with faculty and administration to keep the school’s platforms secure, accessible, and aligned with instructional needs.

How leadership works together
Governance at Porter Hill Academy of Arts and Sciences is carried out through a coordinated administrative structure. The Head of School provides institutional oversight and mission alignment; the Principal leads the daily academic life of the school; and directors provide leadership within their respective academic and operational areas.
This structure is intended to keep decisions close to the work they affect while maintaining clear responsibility for academic quality, student support, enrollment, technology, and school operations.
