Statement of Faith
At Porter Hill Academy of Arts and Sciences, Christian faith is not separate from the work of education. It shapes our understanding of truth, character, responsibility, family, and the purpose of learning.
These beliefs provide the foundation for the academy’s mission and help guide the way we teach, serve students, and partner with families.
What we believe
The statements below summarize the biblical convictions that guide Porter Hill Academy of Arts and Sciences and inform the life of the school.
The Authority of Scripture
2 Timothy 3:16–17
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. Scripture provides guidance for faith, conduct, character, and the way we understand the purpose of education.
God, the Creator
Genesis 1:1 · Psalm 19:1
We believe in one eternal God who created and sustains all things. He reveals Himself through His Word and His creation and calls us to love Him, seek truth, and use knowledge with wisdom.
Jesus Christ, Our Savior
John 3:16 · Romans 10:9–10
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the promised Messiah. He lived a perfect life, died for the sins of humanity, rose from the dead, and offers salvation to all who place their faith in Him.
Salvation by Faith
Ephesians 2:8–9 · 2 Corinthians 5:17
We believe salvation is a gift of grace through faith in Jesus Christ. It is not earned by works but given freely to those who believe, bringing new life and calling believers to live for God’s glory.
Faith and learning belong together
We believe students should pursue knowledge with both intellectual seriousness and moral responsibility. The study of literature, history, mathematics, science, the arts, and other disciplines gives students opportunities to recognize order, ask meaningful questions, and grow in understanding.
A Christian education does not ask students to stop thinking critically. It asks them to think carefully, seek truth faithfully, and consider how knowledge should be used in service to God and others.
Family and Marriage

We believe marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman, as ordained by God, and that families have an essential role in nurturing faith, character, responsibility, and values. The school serves as a partner to families in the education and formation of their children.
The Purpose of Education

We believe education should equip students to grow in knowledge, wisdom, character, and faith. Through the study of the arts and sciences from a Christian perspective, students are prepared to think well, communicate clearly, and use their abilities with purpose.
Christian Living

We believe Christians are called to lives that reflect God’s love, truth, and righteousness. Porter Hill Academy of Arts and Sciences encourages students to practice integrity, humility, compassion, responsibility, and service in their learning and relationships.
Faith lived through school and home
Because Porter Hill Academy of Arts and Sciences is fully online, the partnership between school and family is especially important. Families help establish the routines and encouragement that support learning, while the academy remains responsible for curriculum, instruction, assessment, academic expectations, and school communication.
Our goal is a relationship in which families understand the values guiding the school and students experience consistency between what the academy teaches and the character it seeks to cultivate.
