A note to our families
Dear Families,
It is a privilege to welcome you to Porter Hill Academy of Arts and Sciences. I founded the academy because I believe school should do more than move students from assignment to assignment. Education should help young people grow in knowledge, judgment, responsibility, character, and a genuine love of learning.
Our students encounter serious academics within a Christian learning environment that encourages careful reading, thoughtful questions, clear reasoning, and meaningful communication. We value enduring works and ideas while also preparing students to understand and engage thoughtfully with the world in which they live.
Because Porter Hill Academy of Arts and Sciences is fully online, flexibility must be joined with real academic structure. The academy provides curriculum, instruction, assessment, expectations, and communication, while families support the routines and engagement that help students learn well at home.
My hope is that students leave Porter Hill Academy of Arts and Sciences not only having completed a strong course of study, but also having become more thoughtful, responsible, capable, and prepared to use what they know with wisdom and purpose.
