The Porter Hill Academy of Arts and Sciences Curriculum Map shows how learning develops from strong foundations in the elementary years to deeper reasoning in middle school and increasingly independent research, communication, and academic work in high school. Each grade builds deliberately on the one before it within a Christian understanding of truth, wisdom, character, and purpose.
Three stages of growth, one coherent K–12 path
Elementary, middle, and high school correspond to the classical progression from Grammar to Logic to Rhetoric. Students first build knowledge, then learn to examine and connect ideas, and finally use what they know through research, argument, communication, and purposeful independent work.
One learning model across every grade
The Curriculum Map shows what students study. The Curriculum Framework explains how they learn it. Across grade levels and subjects, courses move students from first exposure toward genuine understanding through four connected parts.
Learn
Students encounter new ideas through instruction, reading, guided notes, demonstrations, Scripture, primary sources, and carefully selected academic materials.
Practice
Assignments provide repeated opportunities to apply skills, solve problems, write, create, review, and strengthen understanding.
Discuss
Questions and Socratic discussion help students explain their thinking, listen carefully, consider perspectives, and support ideas with evidence.
Demonstrate
Quizzes, exams, written work, projects, presentations, and other assessments show what students understand and can apply.

Porter Hill Academy of Arts and Sciences follows a coherent K–12 academic path while recognizing that students may enter with different strengths and needs. Students remain connected to their grade level program, and supplemental work can strengthen specific skills when needed.
